He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Hargis and Myrtle Hargis (Phelps); his wife Betty Hargis (Mounce); and his siblings, Shirley Wells, Eletha Gilbert, Coy Hargis, Floyd Hargis, Jewell Hargis and Merrell Hargis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sylvia Whitaker (Jerry) and Tammy Farmer (Tracy); his grandchildren, Jessica Reynolds (Zeke), Justin Whitaker and Trevor Farmer (Mallory); and his great grandchild Riley Reynolds.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pulaski Funeral Home (165 KY-2227, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland in memory of Mr. Russell Hargis.
