He was predeceased by: his father James Madison Inabnitt; and his siblings, James Luther Inabnitt, Albert Edward Inabnitt, Ina Lee Harper and Nina B Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Phelps Inabnitt; his children, John Sam Inabnitt, Jr. of Somerset, Mary Jane Baker (Glen) of Bowling Green, Florence Waddle (Paul) of Somerset, Ruben Inabnitt (Lisa) of Nancy, Rosetta Dykes (Doug) of Somerset, Alice Sullivan of Somerset and Edward Allen Inabnitt of Somerset; his brother Elmer "Hot Shot" Inabnitt of Somerset; his grandchildren, Sara Inabnitt, Andrew Inabnitt, Thomas Paul Waddle II, Casey Inabnitt, Cody Inabnitt, Courtney Inabnitt, Jamie Dykes, Jesse Dykes, Samuel Coslow, Emma Foster, Lucas Coslow, Summer Coslow, Wally Sullivan and Joshua Allen Inabnitt; and his great grandchildren, Lilly, Julie, Carson Dale, Spencer, Gwen and Braxton.
