She was predeceased by: her parents, George Dean and Mary Spurlock Dean; her husband Walter Steven Syphax, Jr.; and her sisters, Pauline Dean and Georgetta Rivers.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael Syphax (Cynthia Ann) of Orlando, FL and James Stephen Syphax of Cincinnati, OH; and her siblings, Leroy Dean (Joyce) of Dryden, VA, Delano Dean (Gail) of Goshen, OH, Ruth Hogue of Dryden, VA and Jennie. She is also survived by four grandchildren.
