It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilma Phelps of Somerset, Kentucky, who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Wilma Phelps to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer D. Cook and Amanda Ellen Brinson Cook; her husband Jearl D. Phelps; her son Timothy Phelps (Karen); and her siblings, Elbert Cook, Zena Cook, Virginia Stogsdill, Verla Adams, Fannie Snyder, Bertha Daniel, Mildred Bray, Ruth Colyer, Dora Davis and Lillie Simpson.
She is survived by: her sons, Doug Phelps (Pam) of Shopville and Edwin Phelps (Laura) of Somerset; and her granddaughters, Mindy Phelps (Breanna), Carrie Haste (Kevin) and Donna Mink (Colby). She is also survived by three great grandsons; one great granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland in memory of Wilma Phelps.
