He was predeceased by : his parents, William Howland and Ruth Vest Riggs Howland; and his siblings, Bill Riggs, Harold Riggs, Clara Marsh, Bertha Roe and Eileen Taylor.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Pizer Riggs; his sons, Lonnie Riggs (Lynn) of Greenfield, OH. and David Riggs (Theresa) of South Shore, KY; and his pet Gracie Mae.
