He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Reed and Maulsey Followell Reed; and his son Edwin Kevin Reed. He is survived by: his wife Joberta Henson Reed; his children, Kevin Lee Reed of Stanford and Pam Dyer (David) of Nicholasville; his siblings, Carroll Reed (Connie) of Rocky Ford, Lora Overstreet (Pat) of Danville and Carolyn Lane (Arnold) of Maxey Valley; and his grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth and Joshua Reed Dyer.
