He is survived by: his children, Rachel Messer (Kirt) of Island, Samantha Messer of Clearwater and Jeremiah David Messer of Stanford, Kentucky; his brothers, Aaron Messer (Alice) of Jackson and Chris Messer (Heidi) of Birmingham, Alabama; his grandchildren, Lexi Dixon of Richmond, Ben Dixon of Island and Raylan Johnson of Eros; and his uncle Chuck Cosgrove (Vicki) of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
