She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Masterson Goode and Thomas Goode; her husband John Helm; her son Ollie Simpson Jr.; her siblings, James Thomas Goode, Mary T. Simpson, Alene Wilkinson, Hubert Franklin Goode and Henry Goode; her grandson Clifford Helm Jr.; and her great great grandchild Brighton Hendron.
She is survived by: her children, Larry Harris, Barbara Helm, Bradley Helm (Bessie) and Clifford Helm; and her grandchildren, Melinda Harris, Teresa Hairston (Terry), Larry "Little Larry", Erica Miller, Shermail Helm, Derrick Helm, Ashley Arvin, Brad Scott, Brittney Helm, Kayla Helm, Kelsey Helm and Clifton Suter. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bethel AME Church (755 Spoonamore Ln, Stanford, KY 40484). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. She survived COVID twice, overcame a broken hip, and endured the many trials that came with a century of living.
