He was predeceased by: his parents, Effie Bussell Reed and Holton Lewis Reed; his wife Elizabeth Carter of Danville; his son Barry (Patricia); and his granddaughter Leslie.
He is survived by: his daughter Janice Reed; his grandchildren, Laurie Dew (Rob), Christie Reed Marsh and Scott Reed (Daniel) of Athens; his brother Marvin Reed (Marlene); his niece Melinda Reed Jones (Tom); and his nephew Mark Reed (Melissa) of Lexington. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
