He was predeceased by: his father John M. Porter. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Hicks Porter; his mother Betty Hall Porter of Pikeville, KY; his children, John Martin Porter II (Bailey) of Dayton, OH and Leslie Porter Nelson (Brian) of Lowmansville, KY; his sister Susan Wallen (Ronnie) of Stanville, KY; and his grandchildren, Lauren Nelson, Lindsey Nelson Blair (Mason), Jasper Porter, John Richard Porter II and Teddy Porter.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (80 Pike Floyd Hollow, Betsy Layne, KY 41605). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at the Davidson Memorial Gardens (US-23, Ivel, KY 41642).
