Though Barbara Dean may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Barbara Dean touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carroll Edmondson and Estine Edmondson (Roy R. Starkey) of Sturgis; her brothers, Carroll Edmonson, Jr. and Roger Edmondson; and her daughter-in-law Tonya Starkey.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Hall (Dan) of Lee's Summit, MO. and Scott Starkey (Dara) of Providence, KY.; and her granddaughter Patricia Woodard (Paul) of Sturgis, KY.. She is also survived by step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Whitsell Funeral Home - Sturgis (609 N Main St, Sturgis, KY 42459). A graveside service was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Pythian Ridge Cemetery (120 Pythian Ridge Rd, Sturgis, KY 42459).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Anthony's Hospice.
