He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Joseph and Mary Eileen Greenwell (Beaven); his siblings, Juanita Hagan, Agnes Girten, Anna G. "Taotie" Hite, Doris Jean Greenwell, Herman "Sonny" Greenwell, Donald "Mose" Greenwell, Thomas Lyle Greenwell, James Willard Greenwell, Jerry Greenwell and Charles Greenwell; his sons-in-law, Kenneth William Hopper and Kelly Justin Rhodes; and his grandsons, Timothy Wade Lewis and Corbin Hopper.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra "Faye" Greenwell; his daughters, Carol Rhodes, Susan Duncan (Dennis) and Beth Lewis (Tim); his grandchildren, Julie Hinton, Willie Hopper (Sarah), Missy Liechty (Adam), Michael Rhodes (Krystal), Brandi Burnett (Kevin) and Jessie Ritter (Wes); his great grandchildren, Kassandra Terrell (Dustin), Lexi Hinton, Madison Hinton, Aleeya Lewis, Sam Burnett, Max Burnett, Samantha Hughes (Brock), Kenli Hopper, Camden Ritter, Evelyn Ritter and Elliott Ritter; his great great grandchildren, Cody Terrell and Holden Terrell; his brother William "Billy" Greenwell (Midge); and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Wedding Greenwell, Etta Hatfield Greenwell and Wanda Greenwell Cornett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church (1317 N Main St, Sturgis, KY 42459). A Mass will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church building fund or St. Anthony's Hospice.
