It is with sadness that the passing of Floyd Nichols of Sturgis, Kentucky is shared. Floyd, born on February 24, 1939, passed away on October 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Floyd will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Floyd by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Floyd is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Floyd’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Stanley Nichols and Lucille Pauline Gillie; and his son-in-law Floyd Breeden. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Nichols; his children, Nikki Nichols Wheeler, Shawnee Payne, Kyle McGee, Corey Nichols and Michelle Breeden; and his sister Gloria Vasquez. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Whitsell Funeral Home - Sturgis (609 N Main St, Sturgis, KY 42459). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
