It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Dudley Smith of Taylorsville, Kentucky, who passed away on July 21, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Smith and Margaret "Cox" Smith. He is survived by: his daughter Heather Nakos (Philip); his siblings, Carl Smith, Jim Smith, Larry Smith, William Smith and Frances Ponder; his wife Carolyn Smith; his daughter Amy Brown (Paul); his grandchildren, Ashley Lewis (Gary), Jessica Curtsinger (Harley), Tiffany Roark, Tyler Matherly, Cody Roark (Michaela), Anthony Matherly, Hallie Thomas (Seth) and Belle Nakos; and his sister Anna Mae Gibson. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (123 Winning Colors Dr, Mt Washington, KY 40047). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (123 Winning Colors Dr, Mt Washington, KY 40047). An entombment will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery (279 Landis Ln, Mt Washington, KY 40047).
