Blanche Nelson Castle Obituary
We announce the death of Blanche Nelson Castle of Thealka, Kentucky, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 88. Blanche will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vencil Nelson and Georgia Darcus Golden Nelson; and her husband Bobby F. Castle. She is survived by: her daughters, Wilma Castle Storey of Thealka, Thelma Castle of Thealka and Tammie Castle Pelphrey (John W.) of Stambaugh; her granddaughters, Sandra Castle Goble (James Matthew) of Blue River and Tabitha N. Curnutte (Bradley) of Auxier; her great grandchildren, Andrew Preston Goble of Blue River, Dylan Michael and Nathaniel Dean Curnutte of Auxier; and her brother Vencil Nelson Jr. of Lexington. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
