He was predeceased by: his parents, Columbus Gillispie and Mary Darcus Reed Gillispie. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Marie George Gillispie; his children, Millard Paul Gillispie (Angel) of Staffordsville and Trula Ratliff (Daniel Mullins) of Thelma; and his siblings, Lloyd Gillispie (Mary) of Boons Camp, James Gillispie (Myra) of Van Lear, Flora Whitt of Emma, Mary Harmon of Elkhorn City, Amanda Walters (Steve) of Offutt, Lucy Gillispie of Meally, Josephine Gillispie of Meally, Kay Gillispie of Meally, Sarah Dennison (Mike) of Oregon and Misty Lowe (Mack) of Van Lear. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 24th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, May 25th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Millard's memory to the Jones-Preston Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
