He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Moore and Cloteel Bybee Moore; his wife Brenda Birge Moore; his brother Loyd Moore; and the mother of his child Allene Smith Moore.
He is survived by: his daughter Glenda Lyon (Steven) of Tompkinsville, KY; his grandsons, Steven Dale Lyon (Katie) of Tompkinsville, KY and Michael Trent Lyon of Edgewood, WA; his great grandchildren, Sawyer Lyon, Lyndon Lyon and Rylee Lyon; his siblings, Sue Copas of Louisville, KY, Patricia Jarvis (Kenny) of Louisville, KY, Larry Moore (Sandy) of Tompkinsville, KY and Donald Moore (Mary) of Alexandria, KY; and his close friend Betty Spears. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 8:00 AM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home (2232 Summer Shade Rd, Summer Shade, KY 42166). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hosparus Health Barren River or Stateline Christian Church Camp.
