We bid farewell to Hazel Hardesty of Union Star, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 20, 2025 at the age of 82. Hazel touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Alice Mattingly Lee and Spalding Abel Lee; and her siblings, Charles Lee and Faye Schum. She is survived by: her husband Hurschel Hardesty; her children, Dianna Cissell (Jeff) and David Buckel (Angela); her stepchildren, Terry Hardesty, Barry Hardesty (Tina) and Karen Dean (James); her sisters, Margaret Wyhlon, Dorothy Carr and Betty Brown (Jimmy); her sister-in-law Lisa Lee; and her close friend Shirley Johnson (Bill). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 7:30 PM at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home (198 Lawrence St, Brandenburg, KY 40108). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Theresas Church (9245 Rhodelia Rd, Payneville, KY 40157). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at the St. Theresa Cemetery.
