He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kampsen and Alvera Kampsen; his stepfather Florian Niekamp; and his sister Joann. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Kampsen; his sons, Michael Kampsen (Kathy), Steven Kampsen (Heather) and Brian Kampsen; his sister Kathleen VanLandingham (Paul); his grandchildren, Courtney Jones (Casey), Ashley Hall (Nick), Derek Kampsen, Annie Taylor (Aaron), Allie Sexton (Derrick), Samantha Young (Kyle) and Jessica Horton (Kody); and his great grandchildren, Cora, Mylah, Jonah, Levi, Wyatt, Linden, Blaire of Emilia, KC, Addison and Everett. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Middendorf Funeral Home (3312 Madison Pike, Fort Wright, KY 41017). A prayer was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at the Mother of God Cemetery (3125 Madison Ave, Latonia, KY 41015).
