He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Edward and Pauline Jones Roberts; and his siblings, Samuel, Ira Lee, Clyde, Earl Ray, Floyd "Buddy", Hampton and Virgie Mae Bosley.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his sons, Randy Roberts (Shelley) of Livermore, Byron Roberts (Cynthia) of Utica, Sammy Roberts (Diana) of Owensboro, Ricky Roberts (Melody) of Stanley and Paul Roberts (Christine) of Island; his stepchildren, Brett Alan Thomas of Monroe, LaDonna Marie Oudard of Norfolk and John Robert Thomas of Cleveland, Tennessee; and his siblings, Bryce Roberts (Sue) of Philpot and Dorothy Jean Barnett of Philpot. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.
