He was predeceased by: his parents, Genene Wells and Nevard Wells; and his brother Dwayne Wells. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue Hall Wells; his children, Wendell Lee Wells (Kathy) of Van Lear, Justin Blake Wells (Brittany) of Auxier, Kentucky and Deidre Renae Blanton of Van Lear, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Hallanee Craft (Johnny), Leannah Wells, Jacob Wells, Daniel Wells, Rebecca Wells, Journee Wells, Julionna Wells and Josie Wells.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A burial will be held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at the Wells Family Cemetery (124 Wells Ln, Van Lear, KY 41265).
