Genene left this world on June 30, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Lee Wells and Lutie Collins Wells; her husband Nevard Wells; her sons, Garold Wells and Dwayne Wells; her brothers, Darrell Wells, Billy Gerald Wells and Harold Wells; and her grandchildren, Kristopher Wells and Nevard Jackson Wells.
She is survived by: her daughters-in-law, Carol Wells of Van Lear and Geraldine Wells of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Wendell Lee Wells (Kathy), Kimberly Wells, Deidra Blanton and Justin Wells (Brittany); her great grandchildren, Logan Cline, Hallanee Craft, Keithen Harris, Leannah Wells, Jacob Wells, Daniel Wells, Rebecca Wells, Journee Wells, Julionna Wells and Joise Wells; her nephews, Billy Wells, Kevin Wells, Darrell Wells and Scott Wells; and her niece Norma Wells.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240).
