With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mickey Crum of Van Lear, Kentucky, born in Paintsville, Kentucky, who passed away on June 12, 2023 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Elmer Crum and Juanita Triplett Crum Slone; and his brothers, Rex Crum and Dion Crum. He is survived by : his daughters, Sheila Daniel of Lawrenceburg, KY and Crystal Shepherd (John) of Deatsville, AL; his sisters, Dolores Castle (Don) and Glenda Ward (Roger) of Hager Hill, KY; his grandchildren, Bracken Fairchild (Charity), Gatlin Daniel, Abigail Shepherd and John B. Shepherd; and his great grandchildren, Daniel Lee Fairchild and Mariah Miller.

Connie Damron-Music wrote a sympathy message

“Both our families ended up in Breathitt County when I was 7. I pestered him for a toboggan ride. I'm not sure if it was deliberate, but we headed right for an old truck. The closer we got, the more I screamed and freaked out. Finally, I just rolled off and took my chances. He changed course and came to a halt beside the truck - grinning. I never pestered him again. So, very sorry to hear of his passing. Time moves too quickly. God Bless and ease you through your lose.”
