He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Thomas "Dick" Esham and Gladys Estep Esham; his son John Lee "Johnny" Esham; his granddaughter Kristin Shaw; his great grandchild Karys Shaw; and his siblings, Delores Bays, Clayton Eugene Esham of Drennen Clark, Charles Thomas "Tom" Esham, James Clay "Jim" Esham and Judith Ann Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Marcella; his daughter Lana of Georgetown, Kentucky; and his grandsons, Clay (Missy) of Flemingsburg, Jerrod of Flatwoods, Jake of Waddy and Josh (Hannah) of Covington. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
