He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Akin and Alta Price Akin; and his siblings, Finley Akin, Bobby Akin, Dickey Akin, Audrey Calhoun, Genois Collins and Charlene Sexton.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Moran Akin of Versailles Two; his daughters, Alice Ellis (Timmy) of Elizabethtown and Anne Reichenbach (Mark) of Midway; his sisters, Flossie Price of Columbia, Margie Williams of Columbia and Sheila McQueary (Steve) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Lauren Elkins (Chris), Callie Little (Jack) and Will Reichenbach; and his great grandchildren, Jordan Elkins, Kylie Elkins, Elliot Elkins, Finn Elkins, Levi Little, Oliver Little and John Garbacz.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Grissom-Martin Funeral Home (200 Campbellsville St, Columbia, KY 42728). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
