He is survived by: his children, Daphne Whittaker, Crystal Luttrell, Jimmy Garland Downey (Fiona) and Jesse Whittaker; his siblings, Jean Leigh Wachter, Barbara Jo Cummins and Tom Downey (Karen); his grandchildren, Alexis Willett (Brandon), Jordan Downey, Chelsey Gibson (AK), Aryzona Moore, Hailee Barron (Nick) and Jaden Miller; and his great grandchildren, Lynlee, Lincoln, Harper, Winter and Stella.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home (161 Broadway St, Versailles, KY 40383). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (3250 Versailles Rd, Frankfort, KY 40601).
