He was predeceased by : his parents, Raleigh Rice and Delphia Robinson Rice; and his siblings, Russell Rice, Zellard Rice, Claude Rice, Gordon Rice, Emma Lee Bullock and Kenith "Elmo" Rice.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara K. Blackburn Rice; his daughters, Monica Rice Harlan (Chad) and Melissa Rice Madden (Loren); his brother Jack Rice (Phyllis); his granddaughter Kalyn Bryant (Jordan); and his great grandchildren, Harrison Bryant and Theodore Bryant.
