She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Porter and Mildred Mitchell Manley; her husband Junior King; her children, Billy "Slick" Carpenter and Cindy Perkins; her siblings, Neville Gay, Bill Rice, Bobby Rice, Jean Goldey and Judy Woodrow; and her grandchildren, Ethel Blackford and Richard Junior Blackford.
She is survived by: her children, Allen Perkins and Carol Blackford (Richard); her sister Effie Laye; her grandchildren, Amanda Perkins, Katrisha Waldridge and Nikki Hogan (Andra); and her great grandchildren, Braden Justice, Zion Blackford, Jason Rodgers, Josiah Conner, Kiara Blake, Victoria Smotherman, Deandre Malone Jr., Karis Blake and Elora Kozney.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home (161 Broadway St, Versailles, KY 40383). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
