He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Kane and Helen Kane. He is survived by: his wife Carol Kane; his children, Katie Smith (Brian), Ann Willenborg (Tim), Meg Ricklefs and Richard Kane (Jill); and his sisters, Cathy Epatko (Vasil) and Virginia Zeller (Rick). He is also survived by four nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association (ALZ.org).
