With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melva Blanton of Vine Grove, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 27, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph Eugene Blanton; her parents, Herbert Baskett and Gladys Baskett; her siblings, Wallace Baskett, Wilma Grinestaff and Richard Baskett; and her stepson Ralph E. "Gino" Blanton Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Debbie Meredith (Michael); her stepdaughters, Yvonda Rash and Sonya Blanton; and her grandchildren, Mark Meredith (Katie), Andy Meredith (Stacy), Jacob Meredith, Tasha McDonald (Patrick), Tiffany Moore (Jesse) and Tabitha Smothers (Scotty). She is also survived by extended family & friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chism Family Funeral Home (769 Highland Ave, Vine Grove, KY 40175).
