He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Clark and Birdie Clark; and his siblings, Ruthie Clark, David Clark and Leo Clark.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Hiland, Russell Clark Jr. (Tracy), David "Leo" Clark (Sue), Mike Clark, Daniel Clark, Mary LeGrand (Michael), Jason Clark (Fran), Christine Clark, Zetta Thompson and James "J. R." Clark; and his sisters, Elizabeth Campbell, Jane Thomas and Joan Compton. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
