He was predeceased by : his parents, Guy Sylvester Burnett and Mary Jane Vessels Burnett; his sister Alexis Wathen; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Fackler and Gordon Jewitt.

He is survived by : his wife Gail Burnett; his daughter Amanda Burnett Shaw (John) of Vine Grove, KY; his grandchildren, Miranda Jane Russell and Mason Bailey Burnett of Vine Grove, KY.; and his siblings, Rosemary Fackler of Louisville, KY, Diana Jewitt of Brandenburg, KY, Becky Eckert (Roy) of Tullahoma, TN, Ronnie Burnett (Linda) of Vine Grove, KY, David Burnett (Diane) of Brandenburg, KY and Mark Burnett (Lisa) of Louisville, KY.. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and very good friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Chism Family Funeral Home (769 Highland Ave, Vine Grove, KY 40175). A prayer was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (440 St. Martin Road, Flaherty, KY 40175).
