He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell Johnson and Madgie Childers Johnson; his siblings, Peter Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Dwight Johnson, Pina Flinchum and Pollyanne Johnson; and his granddaughter Brittany Johnson.
He is survived by : his wife Vina Mae; his children, Deborah Smallwood (Rodney) of Dorton and Basil "Ed" Johnson (Kathy) of Knoxville; his siblings, Randall Johnson, Phyllisteen Reed, Patricia Cornette and Stella Sue Parsons; and his grandchildren, Elijah "Jake" Smallwood, Samantha Smallwood and Katie Johnson. He is also survived by friends and neighbors.
