It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Newsome (Virgie, Kentucky), who passed away on December 28, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Isadore Brown; her former husband Hobart Johnson; her husband Charles Fletcher Newsome; her siblings, Charles Brown, Bruce Brown, James Brown, Catherine Wright and Gladys Mullins; her son-in-law Randall Stewart; and her great grandchild Annabelle Grace Godlove.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda Stewart; her grandchildren, Amanda Godlove, Randall "Buck" Stewart and Anastasia; her children, Frank Newsome (Mildred), Doug Newsome (Bea), Teddy Newsome, Abe Newsome (Marley), Carol Rose (Wesley), Tina Tackett (Paul) and Lexsetty Mullins (David); her brothers, Hansel Brown (Carol), Lloyd "Popeye" Brown (Ruth) and Cecil Brown (Anita); and her caregiver Vivian Akers. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
