She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Smallwood and Norella Elswick Damron of Phillips Branch; her brother Barry Layne Smallwood; and her children, Norella "Sissy" Mullins and Brandon Scott Newsome.
She is survived by: her husband Bobby Layne; her grandchildren, Zachary Mullins (Brooke) and Shyanna Justice (Austin); her great grandchild Walker Justice; her brothers, Rodney Smallwood (Wendy) and Terry Smallwood (Jennifer); and her pet Tia.
