He was predeceased by: his brother Mark Long. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Long; his father Gene Long; his children, David Fultz and Melissa Fultz; and his grandchildren, Sean, Kendall, Kierstin and David.

“I worked side by side with Max for several years of the 12 that I spent working at Schwans. No matter what was going on Max was never one to be overly critical or mistreat someone in general. He was the type of leader & teammate that some would take for granted in my opinion. Because no matter what Max was always right there on the front line working hard regardless of the circumstances. It wasn’t just his work ethic - it was the way he treated people that showed his real character.”
