He was predeceased by: his son Michael David Newsome; his parents, Carrie Brewer Newsome and Floyd "Bud" Newsome; and his siblings, Alvin Lee Newsome, Maudie Sharon Newsome, William Douglas Newsome and Edward Newsome (Zelda).
He is survived by: his daughter Janet Marie Newsome; his siblings, Danny Newsome, Ronald Newsome (Sandy), Maryellen Dingess (Sam), Josephine Newsome, Pamela Newsome (Bill) and Violet Ann Newsome; his niece Amanda Spaulding (Jason); his close friend Robert Brewer (Debra); and his sister-in-law Connie Newsome. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
