As we bid adieu to Melvin's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Melvin has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Pansy Adams (Ellis) and Charles T. Adams; and his sister Ellen Jacobus (Adams). He is survived by: his children, Dr. Chastity Griffin-Franklin (Brandon Franklin) and Douglas R. Griffin (Emily Griffin); and his nephew Cory Jacobus (Morgan Jacobus).

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at 7:00 PM at the Garnett-New Funeral Home (108 E Main St, Warsaw, KY 41095).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Warsaw AA Group at 209 W Market St, Warsaw, KY 41095, an organization close to his heart.
