He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lester Freeman and Ruth Freeman (Jones); his wife Nancy Freeman; his daughter Rebecca "Becky" Price; and his siblings, James H. Freeman, Robert Michael Freeman and Mary Katherine Freeman.

He is survived by: his children, Thomas "Tommy" Freeman (Carrie) of Wyoming, James Freeman (Karla) of Flagstaff, Arizona, Traci Hodge (Thomas) of Warsaw and Jessica Clark of Warsaw, Kentucky. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
