He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Spears and Mary Dye Spears; his wife Regina Spears; and his siblings, Owen Spears, Thomas Spears, Pleas Spears, Lottie Spears, Nellie Spears, Maggie Spears, Johnny Spears, Gene Spears and Harold Spears.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Green Spears II (Tina) of Alabama, Robert Ray Spears (Rhonda) of Stanton, KY, Miriam Ison (Daniel) of Waynesburg and Christine Spears of Waynesburg; and his siblings, Dixie Reardon, Alice Spears, George Spears and Eddie Spears. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Spurlin Funeral Home (411 W Main St, Stanford, KY 40484). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
