He is survived by: his wife Rita Dye; his sons, James Kent Dye, Jr. (Sheena Adams) of McDowell, KY and Joshua Kyle Dye of McDowell, KY; his siblings, Curtis Wayne Dye (Becky) of Warsaw, IN, Bobby Dye of Hi Hat, KY, Phinas Dye of Sandy Hook, KY, Josie Ann Cornett (Winford) of Carrie, KY, Jewell Hill (Joe) of Hager Hill, KY and Deborah J. Dye of East Point, KY; his grandchildren, Austin Dye (Emmalee), Paetyn Dye, Aspen Dye (Logan), Brityn Dye, Rylie Dye, Grayson Dye, Kaylee Page (Jesse) and Grant Tackett (Angela); and his great grandchild Coastal Grey Boyd.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Hall Funeral Home (331 KY-122, Martin, KY 41649). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 6:00 PM and on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at the Dye Family Cemetery.
