He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse W. Smith and Nancy Bolin Smith; and his wife Mary Williams Smith. He is survived by: his sons, Deven Scott Smith and Dustin Smith; his granddaughter Alexis Smith; his sisters, Sharon (Benton Hutchinson) and Shirl (Charlie Perry); and his close friend Amanda Patrick.
