He was predeceased by: his parents, James "J. B." Fields and Vesta Jean Boggs; and his siblings, Lorraine Fleming (Boggs) of Greenville and Eddie Fields of Louisville, Kentucky.. He is survived by: his wife Nellie Lavern Fields (Boggs); his son Rev Jonathan Dean Fields (Jerri) of Mayking, Kentucky.; his brother Roger Dale Fields of Jenkins, Kentucky.; his half-siblings, Kenna Fields, Julie Fields, Amy Fields, Lucky Fields of Indiana and James Fields of Indiana; his grandchildren, Aaron Keith Wurschmidt (Chasity) of Mayking and Rev Jon-Dawson Fields (Abby) of Berea, Kentucky.; and his great grandchildren, Lylah Everleigh Wurschmidt of Mayking, Mira Mae Wurschmidt of Mayking, Cainan Keith Wurschmidt of Mayking, Elijah Kade Wurschmidt of Mayking and Hudson Dean Fields of Berea.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Letcher Funeral Home (102 Main St, Whitesburg, KY 41858). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
