He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewitt Slaven and Janell Duncan Slaven; his wife Valda Newport Slaven; and his siblings, Billie Jo Davis, Jack, Jim, Mark, Merrill, Alton, Paul and Eugene Slaven.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Belcher (Jamie) of Bowling Green and Janie Slaven of Stearns; and his brothers, Gary (Brenda) and Mike Slaven (Bill Roberts). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
