He was predeceased by: his friend Jimmy Martin; his parents, Elmon Perkins and Amanda Perkins; his wife Betty Perkins; and his siblings, Toni Lawson Paul Perkins (Gorman), Hobert Perkins (Nelma), Dempsey Perkins (Juanita) and Benny Perkins (Clata).
He is survived by: his child Byron Eric Perkins (Angie Thurman); his grandchildren, Jenna Lynn Perkins and Jolie Elaine Perkins; his sisters, Artie Douglas and Loretta Duncan (Ronnie); his friends, Paul Nevels, Ron Hayes, Ronnie Wilson, Joel and Joseph Lester; Michelle and Ann Perkins. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, National Veterans Foundation, Tunnel to Towers Program, or Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
