He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross T. Bruner and Sadie Bruner (Jones); his wife Ruth Ann Bruner (Rhoades); and his great grandchild Eliana Bruner. He is survived by: his children, Kern Bruner (Bonnie) of Wickliffe, KY, Kesha Drawbaugh (Steve) of Georgia and Karla Valentine of Florida. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
