He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Edgar and Willie Inez Johnson Hatley; his wife Christine Hall Hatley; his sisters, Yvonne Hatley and Alice Turner; and his stepsons, Wilber Hall Lampkin and Roger Dale Lampkin.

He is survived by : his children, Kylie, Keira and Kami; and his siblings, Barbara Perry of Sanger, Texas and Jewel Thomas Hatley of Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
