She was predeceased by : her parents, Irvin Brown and Rosa Brown; her husband Milton "Sonny" Prewitt; her children, Nick Mays and Yvonne Shaw; and her siblings, Ellis, Doyle Brown, Opal Faulkner and Eva Reynolds.

She is survived by : her daughter Charlotte Ballou (Robert); her brother Damon Brown; her children-in-law, Dee Mays and Dr. Frank Shaw; her grandchildren, Monica Davidson (Mark), Jennifer Stotz (John), Courtney Mansell, Amy Reimers (Mike), Todd Shaw (Katie), Katelyn Hawkins (Chad) and Cody Mays; her caregiver Dixie Taylor; and also, Bruce, Shanda and Gloria Weddle. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Croley Funeral Home (103 S 2nd St, Williamsburg, KY 40769). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 5:30 PM.
