He is survived by : his son Johnny Lee Philpot Jr. (Heather Partin); his grandsons, Jonathan Philpot and Austin Philpot; his siblings, Charles Philpot, Brenda Stewart (Ralph), Charlene Richardson (Lee), Louella Cole and Joann Arnett (Ron); his nephew Glenn Ray Wilson (Kevin Smith); and also Andrea Brock.
