With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Samuel Clay Davis (Williamsburg, Kentucky), born in Jellico, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 24, 2025 at the age of 95. He was predeceased by: his wife Effie Davis; his children, Kimberly Davis, Gregory Davis and Samuel Jeffrey Davis; his parents, Claude Davis and Sarah Davis (Jeffries); and his grandson-in-law Steve Mayer.
He is survived by: his brother Robert Davis of Campton, KY.; his granddaughters, Christine Mayer of Corbin, KY., Michelle Burton (Gregory) of Verona, KY and Danielle Halcomb (Tim) of Clinton Township, Michigan; his great grandchildren, Steve Mayer (Megan), Scott Mayer (Mary), Shelby Burton, Michael Burton (Grace), Savannah Mayer, Samuel Mayer, Adrianna Halcomb, Matthew Halcomb, Joshuah Halcomb and Emma Halcomb; his great great grandchildren, Eden Mayer, Maggie Mayer and Emmett Mayer; and his caregivers, Laurie Moses, Linda Lawson, Marsha Elliott, Karen Hollin and Sharon Logan.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Croley Funeral Home (103 S 2nd St, Williamsburg, KY 40769). A masonic service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 3:50 PM at the Masonic Lodge 490 (2209 S Main St, Corbin, KY 40701). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Croley Funeral Home (103 S 2nd St, Williamsburg, KY 40769). A graveside service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the American Legion Post 88. A burial was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pleasant View Cemetery East.
